From the youth
Hey, so it’s been a while, but I’m back, hope you all had a good Christmas and a great new year. Lots has happened since I last wrote so here’s a quick update on what we have been up to over the past couple of months, light switch on’s, Brigade Christmas party, all aged production, Christmas!, Boxing Day games, youth club and much more.
Lets start at the beginning, the last Friday night of the year…well not the last Friday, the last brigade Friday, the anchor boys, explorers and juniors had a Christmas party, with various games. When 7:15 arrived and they left, we vacated to the coffee lounge and detective inspector Dick Laceycame up and gave us some shocking news……There had been a murder In the hall , and we were now all detective trying to find out who had murdered Tracey (Laura) so our task began, we had to interrogate suspects and find out who murdered this innocent person, there were various stall where we had to do an activity and got to ask the suspects questions about their day and whether they had something against Tracey the evening continued with us visiting stalls trying to work out who was themurderer. Finally before the evening came to a close we all decided on who we thought the murderer was and how they killed Tracey, then it was revealed….Guy lines, the BB Captain murdered Tracey.
Well the all aged production was a busy yet enjoyable day, after weeks and weeks of learning song words dances and actions, making costumes and scenery the day had finally arrived for us to show what amazing talent we had, members from Margate, Westgate and Canterbury all arrived on the Saturday morning to the church being transformed into an amazing stable. Suddenly we remembered that we had forgotten an important part of the story….baby Jesus, eventually we found it and the day continued. Throughout the day we rehearsed the show many times before it was finally time to perform it to friends and family, after a great performance it was time to tidy up and go home.
Boxing day games: Christmas day was over and boxing day began it was a cold refreshing Monday morning. A group of young, and not so young people meet at Hartsdown park, for a kick about, hockey game, and various other games, if I’m honest with you, I don’t have a clue what the score wasbecause I wasn’t actually paying attention. I get the feeling we lost.I
